Worms

Worms. I have the craft equivalent of worms. I just can't sit still on anything.

It's not such a bad thing though I guess. It means I've been fiddling with a new craft: a bit of subversive cross stitch (an inspired birthday present from JD).

I'm enjoying this an unreasonable amount, it feels hilariously risque to be cross-stitching naughty words. Juvenile, but hilarious.

I've been sewing together strips of left over fabric to turn into little gifts for some swaps i'm doing at the moment. This is of course a distraction from what i'm actually supposed to be making. Procrastinating? Me?

I've been cleaning out my fabric box too. I'm a terrible hoarder when it comes to fabric. There's something about not being able to look at it in it's little folded piles that makes me reluctant to actually use it. Well, that and the fact that my sewing ability is actually so craptastic it seems like a waste. But there is a resolution to this little problem. One that involves no sewing. One that means I can still ogle the pretty fabric.

I'm well in to the foot on the pomatomus too, but I don't think you need another photo of that. Hopefully if everyone crosses their fingers I'll have them finished this week.

That is if I can sit still for long enough...

that is so cool! I got really ticked off with how twee so much word based x-stitch was when I was doing it. One more 'home is where the heart is' (which I never did, I'll have you know) and I was going to puke. That's the best thing I've seen all day!

Hmm... if I cross my fingers for you, then *I* can't knit! I love those subversive cross stitch designs! I've been wanting to order the book forever... now you've pushed me over the edge and I think I have to!

Those swatch portraits are uber cool! Great way to model all your pretty fabric.

And the subversive cross stitch patterns are a hoot. Speaking as one who in her unfortunate past once needlepointed a *unicorn* with a *rainbow,* (gack - I was 12) I don't know if I'm ever allowed near a cross stitch canvas again...though if I were, I would make one of them. Probably the FOAD one. And it would have a unicorn on it.

Oh! Perhaps there is reason yet for me to buy beautiful fabrics (because it is certainly *not* because I have a lick of sewing mojo in me)!! Excellent fabric-in-hoop idea!

Wow, you're branching out from socks majorly! Kel likes cross stitching and so does Katie. I've thought about buying those cross stitch patterns but I always figure I have enough planned projects on my plate. You have some nice fabrics!

Ahh, but what swear word are you embroidering? Enquiring minds wanna know ;)

I understand the crafting worms, I get them too, especially when watching tv! I feel like I have to be doing *something*...much to the chagrin of my husband!

Heh heh heh, those cross stitch patterns are hilarious! You have some gorgeous fabric...I never see anything like that here in the U.S. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

I discovered the Subversive Cross Stitch site about a year ago, and just love it - I really must actually do one, just to see the look on my rather humourless step-mother's face!

Beautiful fabrics, too! Enjoy your wormy craft ;)
